Coastline Evolution Model
Modified version of the Coastline Evolution Model (CEM)
The Coastline Evolution Model (CEM), originally developed by Ashton et al. (2001), Ashton and Murray (2006) and Valvo et al. (2006), is a reduced complexity, one-line sediment transport model that simulates the evolution of coastlines via wave-driven alongshore sediment transport. The original CEM has no Graphical User Interface (GUI) and does not provide graphical visualisations during model runs. The modified version given here includes these features. This project forms part of a wider research project and further developments on this model are anticipated. -

A general flow visualization Matlab toolbox for image processing of some common planar/surface visualization techniques from PLIF (Planar laser induce fluorescence) for tracer distribution, BOS (background oriented Schlieren) for density, TSLC (Temperature sensitive liquid crystal) for thermal and PSP (Pressure sensitive paint) pressure distribution measurement. This work is part of author's PhD study, under Dr S. Zhong @ the University of Manchester's supervision, guidance and support. Both GUI and command line interface are provided for newbie and advanced user. Image can be processed into contour image, matlab mat and tecplot data. This toolbox can be conveniently extended for 2D image processing in other disciplines, for example, surface stress measurement, inferred thermograph, PIV. It supports real-time (animated) charting, custom trace rendering, Multithreading, viewports, automatic scaling and labels. Former UI controls (right click context menu, file menu) have been ported to the subproject jchart2d-uimenu (https://sourceforge.net/projects/jchart2d-uimenu.jchart2d.p/) for the benefit of having no dependencies to 3rd party libraries.
