    blitz-image

    GPU-accelerated image processing for java

...Although more features will be added in time, the initial focus is on very fast high-quality image resizing, including bicubic resizing (both upscale and downscale). The performance of a typical bicubic upscale operation is typically in the order of 10 times faster than via the standard AWT mechanism using RenderingHints.VALUE_INTERPOLATION_BICUBIC. The library depends on Aparapi (https://code.google.com/p/aparapi/). Any GPU supporting OpenCL should be supported (including low-end GPUs without double-precision fp support), and there is automatic fallback to pure java implementations for all operations in the event that there is no OpenCL support available. ...

    FlightCraft3D: The Return

    FlightCraft3D: The Return

extreme 3D flight simulator with advanced terrain rendering

A rough, 3D extreme flight simulator in which there's a large terrain on which one can land: as the terrain-rendering is advanced and thus terrain is large, detailed and well visible, one can do wild flights in valleys, one can experiment with landing in any casual point of a wild, colorful area including mountous, hilly and flatty areas as well. The flightmodel is primitive here, but acceptable. I will try to do a second release in which the JSBSim module will be used to provide a more...

    circlize

    circlize

    Circular visualization in R

circlize is an R package for creating circular visualizations (plots laid out in circular coordinate systems) in a very flexible way. It implements many types of plots using circular layouts: chord diagrams, circular heatmaps, arcs/links between sectors, genomic data visualization, etc. It provides low-level drawing functions as well as high-level functions to build complex visualizations. It’s often used in genomics, network analysis, or other fields where relationships among categories or entities can be nicely displayed in a circular fashion. ...

    particlevis

    A particle simulation visualization program

...It contains a set of features that enables powerful and useful visualizations of particle simulations to be quickly generated. Support is provided for visualization of hundreds of thousands of particles on commodity workstations, using OpenGL. Functionality includes data exploration, debugging of simulation output, and generation of presentation-quality imagery. The ability to visualize vector flow information in a variety of forms, such as arrow-lines, inscribed glyphs, and motion blurred particles, is particularly useful in the study of granular flows. User-generated information can be integrated into the visualization using features such as per-particle color maps and surface maps, per-region vector fields, and volumetric data.

    LogisticBell

Here we test the Logistic Map using finite and infinite precision...

Here we test the Logistic Map using finite and infinite precision floats (Apfloats). More decimals produce longer sequence (longer chaotic signal for certain parameters). Shorter decimal precision makes the sequence converge to zero eventually. In the process, number of decimals rises and then drops for some reason, forming a bell-shaped curve with long tail. On second consideration, this does not look like a bell-shaped curve at all.
