Pyclamp is Python package used to extract and analyse electrophysiological data. A graphical user interface has been developed to allow a user to run the pack- age without requiring any knowledge of Python code. Presently, Pyclamp is designed to perform very specific forms of analysis on evoked synaptic responses: Data analysis (under development) : This is a highly user-interactive en-vironment that can be used to discriminate synaptic events, obtain various measures of their kinetics and size, and output the results. Quantal analysis : This part of the package performs simple variance-mean analysis and Bayesian quantal analysis to estimate the quantal sizea dn number of release sites among other measures. -

...It has been shown recently that EI methods can be more accurate than FFT methods (Courtney and Courtney, A More Accurate Fourier Transform) for scientific data analysis and that EI methods can be implemented in reasonable times with modern computing power. This project makes the source code (and command line Windows executable) developed in that study openly available for scientific and engineering uses. -

Next-generation sequencing short reads aligner based on Intel® MIC
Latest Code in GitHub: https://github.com/aquaskyline/MICA-aligner To better utilize MIC-enabled computers for NGS data analysis, we developed a new short-read aligner MICA that is optimized in view of MIC’s limitation and the extra parallelism inside each MIC core. Experiments on aligning 150bp paired-end reads show that MICA using one MIC board is ~4.85 times faster than the CPU-(multi-core)-based BWA-MEM and about the same speed as the GPU-based SOAP3-dp. -
