RotorCrypt X-Files is a Windows encryption program that protects files and folders fully offline — no cloud, no server, no account required. Its core is the Vault: files and folders are automatically encrypted in three independent layers (optional fourth layer), stored under randomized .rcx names. It also includes a built-in Password Vault: generate strong, customizable passwords and store your website credentials (URL, username, password) in an encrypted table. Files can be shared securely with a confirmed contact after a handshake is complete — all messages are protected against man-in-the-middle attacks. Any tampering with a file or message is detected immediately and makes it unreadable. Content can be packaged as a self-extracting EXE with optional expiration date. Uses only vetted algorithms: Argon2id, AES-256-GCM, ChaCha20, SHA3-256, rotor cipher logic, ECDH X25519, and DoD 5220.22-M secure deletion. Portable, no installation needed. Free shareware version available.
