    Multus-CNI

    Multus-CNI

A CNI meta-plugin for multi-homed pods in Kubernetes

...Typically, in Kubernetes each pod only has one network interface (apart from a loopback) -- with Multus you can create a multi-homed pod that has multiple interfaces. This is accomplished by Multus acting as a "meta-plugin", a CNI plugin that can call multiple other CNI plugins. The quickstart installation method for Multus requires that you have first installed a Kubernetes CNI plugin to serve as your pod-to-pod network, which we refer to as your "default network" (a network interface that every pod will be created with). Each network attachment created by Multus will be in addition to this default network interface.

    kube2iam

    kube2iam

Provides different AWS IAM roles for pods running on Kubernetes

...IAM roles are attributed through instance profiles and are accessible by services through the transparent usage by the aws-sdk of the ec2 metadata API. When using the aws-sdk, a call is made to the EC2 metadata API which provides temporary credentials that are then used to make calls to the AWS service. The problem is that in a multi-tenanted containers based world, multiple containers will be sharing the underlying nodes. Given containers will share the same underlying nodes, providing access to AWS resources via IAM roles would mean that one needs to create an IAM role which is a union of all IAM roles. ...

    Awesome-Kubernetes

    Awesome-Kubernetes

A curated list for awesome kubernetes sources

...It groups containers that make up an application into logical units for easy management and discovery. The first unified container-management system developed at Google was the system we internally call Borg. It was built to manage both long-running services and batch jobs, which had previously been handled by two separate systems: Babysitter and the Global Work Queue. The latter’s architecture strongly influenced Borg, but was focused on batch jobs; both predated Linux control groups. Kubernetes is known to be a descendant of Google's system BORG. ...
