Disque is a distributed, fault-tolerant, in-memory message broker designed for job-/message-queue scenarios, created as an experiment to capture the “Redis as a jobs queue” use case but elevate it into a self-contained and scalable system. The design focuses on simplicity, providing a minimal and clear API for producers to enqueue jobs (messages) and consumers to process them, while handling replication, failure and re-queueing internally. AUM is an extremely fast, small-state, cryptographically secure pseudo-random number generator and stream cipher. AUM exhibits uniform distribution, mixes rapidly, has no detected bias, and comes in three variants: AUM16, with an internal state array of 16+4 32-bit words; AUM32, with an internal state of 32+4 words; and AUM64 with a 64+4-word state. Qexplore enables a Qmail server to analyze emails.
...Unlike other scanners for Qmail, such as Simscan or Qmail-Scanner which are inline scanners, Qexplore is an offline scanner that first write an email to a queue resident on disk, closing the qmail-smtpd communication. It than (offline) analyzes this email to check for virus and/or spam. This design solves the problem of highly traffic smtp servers in wich a lot of concurrent SMTP connections can deny access of incoming/outgoing emails because the system is busy. -
