Platypus is a developer tool that creates native Mac applications from command line scripts such as shell scripts or Python, Perl, Ruby, Tcl, JavaScript, and PHP programs. This is done by wrapping the script in an application bundle along with a slim app binary that runs the script. mfork is a command-line tool to parallelize shell commands. Each line of text fed to it causes mfork to fork off a new process and run the the line of text though a shell. The maximum amount of concurrent processes can be set on the command line.
