To make a simpler serial device tool for working with serial TTY devices with less focus on classic terminal/modem features and more focus on the needs of embedded developers and hackers. tio was originally created as an alternative to screen for connecting to serial devices when used in combination with tmux. -

This is a simple command line tool to customize CP2103 USB to UART bridge controllers in home-grown hardware. VID, PID, product name string, serial number string, and release version of the device can be changed next to GPIO port modes.
