Open-source Dropbox using Ruby and Git
Gitdocs is a Ruby-based file synchronization system that uses Git repositories as the storage and versioning layer. It was designed as an open-source alternative for Dropbox-style synchronization of documents and project files. The service watches selected local directories and automatically commits and pushes changes to configured remote repositories. Existing repositories can be monitored, or Gitdocs can clone a remote repository and create a new synchronized share.
