CIMHA is aimed to create integrated suite to provision and manage HA clusters in virtual environment. It analyzes kernel/hardware health of cluster nodes by using VESPER(linux kernel prober) and migrates the Resources based on probe signals.
The Beowulf Distributed Process Space (BProc) is a set of Linux kernel modifications for easy process management and remote process creation in Beowulf style clusters.
- DSI is a security framework addressing security needs of carrier-grade Linux clusters. - DigSig is a linux kernelmodule checking RSA signatures of ELF executables at run-time. **Those projects are no longer maintained**
Distributed Inter-Process Communication (DIPC) is a combination of a Linux kernel extension and user-space programs that allows the user to develop distributed applications very easily.
omuscd is an User Space Cluster Daemon for use with the openMosix 2.6 kernel extension for single-system image clustering. The daemon provides process migration management and communication between networked computers to construct a cluster.
The NFS/RDMA project is a reference implementation of a new RDMA-capable ONC RPC transport for use by Linux kernel NFS. This transport implementation is now available as part of the Linux kernel. The code is also available separately under a dual GPL/BSD
This project is to develop a versatile benchmark for High Performance Computing (HPC) network environments, currently the Linux-based Beowulf systems. The goal is to examine the TCP/UPD/MPI communications and their impact to system kernel.
openMosix is a Linux kernel extension for single-system image clustering. Taking n PC boxes, openMosix gives users and applications the illusion of one single computer with n CPUs. openMosix is perfectly scalable and adaptive.
Trivially Distributed File System is a FUSE-based file system module that enables single-writer-multiple-reader distribution/clustering of file system data.
Stork is a linux 2.6 systemV inter process comunication layer extension. Stork process can share IPC objects, like semaphores or messages passing buffer, in a distributed multi-architecture cluster.
SLLB is a linux implementation of a software load balancing written in C on GNU/Linux.
Problems:
- ethernet hardware device compatibilities
- deep kernel network programming
This project is now defunct. All work has been moved to the
DAPL foundry.
kDAPL is the kernel Direct Access Provider Library reference implementation for InfiniBand. It is a high performance Remote Direct Access Memory (RDMA) API for the kernel. See
DAPL is the Direct Access Provider Library reference implementation for RDMA transports. It is a high performance Remote Direct Access Memory (RDMA) API. The project is composed of both user mode (uDAPL) and kernel mode (kDAPL) versions. See www.datcollab
Queue is a load-balancing system popular in the 2000s that lets users control their remote jobs in an intuitive, transparent and nearly seamless way. Development versions feature job migration with and without kernel support. GNU Queue continues to be downloaded despite being decommissioned by the FSF in favor of the newer GNU Parallel project. Older versions of the code are archived here on Sourceforge and some later versions on GNU Savannah.
U4X, pronounced 'eu-phor-ix', is a linux distribution suited for multimedia professionals as well as the at-home amatuers. U4X includes such features as a modified kernel, verbose shell, journaling file system, and clustering capabilities.
Talkware TIARA, an Openbios/GRUB/PFORTH composite, BIOS replacement. Boots an unmodifed linux kernel from an IDE drive or ethernet, using only 128kb of flash. Works with INTEL/AMD K6/2-450, SiS 530/5595 and 8139 enet. VGA & Serial console supported.
