F1 customers want to seamlessly migrate between Alveo and F1 platforms to enable scaling in AWS cloud. The F1 development flow currently supports the requirement with Vitis, but there is no such support available for full custom RTL development flow (Vivado design flow). AWS F1.A.1.4 shell is targeted at enabling this. AWS F1.A.1.4 shell enables customers to migrate designs seamlessly between on-premise U200 Alveo card and F1 platform in a full custom RTL development flow. This gives choice to the customers to use either a Vitis flow or a full custom RTL/Vivado design flow and seamlessly migrate designs between Alveo U200 and F1. The F1.A.1.4 shell for Alveo U200 is fully compatible with F1.X.1.4 shell thus making the migration as simple as swapping the shell with one another, with no design changes to user logic. Xilinx device, xcu200-fsgd2104-2-e (Part used in U200) is based on VU9P and has the same base SLR die with the same number of SLRs as VU9P (F1 device). -

This project ensures that the Kubernetes control plane responds appropriately to events that can cause your EC2 instance to become unavailable, such as EC2 maintenance events, EC2 Spot interruptions, ASG Scale-In, ASG AZ Rebalance, and EC2 Instance Termination via the API or Console. If not handled, your application code may not stop gracefully, take longer to recover full availability, or accidentally schedule work to nodes that are going down. Version 3 of the AWS SDK for Ruby modularizes the monolithic SDK into service-specific gems, for example, aws-sdk-s3 and aws-sdk-dynamodb. Now each service gem uses strict semantic versioning, along with the benefits of continuous delivery of AWS API updates. With modularization, you can pick and choose which service gems your application or library requires, and update service gems independently of each other. You will need to configure credentials and a region, either in configuration files or environment variables, to make API calls. It is recommended that you provide these via your environment. -

Script that allows the easy creation of OpenVPN endpoints in any AWS region. Creating a VPN endpoint is done with a single command that takes ~3 minutes. It will create the proper security groups. It spins up a tagged ec2 instance and configures OpenVPN software. Once the instance is configured an OpenVPN configuration file is downloaded and ready to use. There is also functionality to see which instances are running in which region and the ability to terminate the instance when done. Additional functionality includes specifying instance type, generating ssh keypairs, specifying custom AMI, changing login user, and more to come. Create on-demand OpenVPN Endpoints in AWS that can easily be destroyed after done only pay for what you use. -

The code is cleaned up, commented and all code is in a "monorepo". That means you can run tests across projects and general management of the code is simplified a lot. When you make a code change you should create a branch first. When the code is changed and backed up by a test you can commit it from the root. A declarative approach to application logic also allows us to build developer tools that builds the mental image of this complexity for you. It makes perfect sense for us to write our UIs with declarative code. The reason is that we need to reuse UI elements and compose them together in different configurations. UIs are complex. But what about our application logic? Applications are becoming more complex in nature as we push the boundaries of user experiences. -

ExternalDNS
Configure external DNS servers (AWS Route53, Google CloudDNS and other
ExternalDNS synchronizes exposed Kubernetes Services and Ingresses with DNS providers. Inspired by Kubernetes DNS, Kubernetes' cluster-internal DNS server, ExternalDNS makes Kubernetes resources discoverable via public DNS servers. Like KubeDNS, it retrieves a list of resources (Services, Ingresses, etc.) from the Kubernetes API to determine the desired list of DNS records. Unlike KubeDNS, however, it's not a DNS server itself, but merely configures other DNS providers accordingly, e.g. AWS Route 53 or Google Cloud DNS. In a broader sense, ExternalDNS allows you to control DNS records dynamically via Kubernetes resources in a DNS provider-agnostic way. ExternalDNS' allows you to keep selected zones (via domain-filter) synchronized with Ingresses and Services of type=LoadBalancer in various cloud providers. ExternalDNS can become aware of the records it is managing therefore ExternalDNS can safely manage non-empty hosted zones. -

We (the folks at Very Good Ventures) teamed up with Google to bring an interactive experience to this year’s Google I/O: a photo booth! You can take pictures with well-known Google mascots: Flutter’s Dash, Android Jetpack, Chrome’s Dino, and Firebase’s Sparky, and decorate photos with stickers, including party hats, pizza, funky glasses, and more. Finally, you can share photos on social media and download them to update your profile picture for the event! We built the I/O Photo Booth using Flutter on the web and Firebase. Because Flutter now offers support for web apps, we thought it would be a great way to make this app easily accessible to attendees all over the world for this year’s virtual Google I/O. Flutter’s web support eliminates the barrier of having to install an app from an app store and also gives you the flexibility to run it on your device. -

Middy is a very simple middleware engine that allows you to simplify your AWS Lambda code when using Node.js. If you have used web frameworks like Express, then you will be familiar with the concepts adopted in Middy and you will be able to get started very quickly. Whilst previous versions of React Firebase Hooks had some support for React Native Firebase, the underlying changes to v9 of the Firebase Web library have meant this is no longer as straightforward. We will investigate if this is possible in another way as part of a future release. This library explores how React Hooks can work to make integration with Firebase even more straightforward than it already is. It takes inspiration for naming from RxFire and is based on an internal library that we had been using in a number of apps prior to the release of React Hooks. The implementation with hooks is 10x simpler than our previous implementation. -
