This library explores how React Hooks can work to make integration with Firebase even more straightforward than it already is. It takes inspiration for naming from RxFire and is based on an internal library that we had been using in a number of apps prior to the release of React Hooks. The implementation with hooks is 10x simpler than our previous implementation. -

It works by changing the device region information exposed through IORegistry, causing the system to report a U.S.-style region value instead of a China-region value. The repository includes an installer script, source files, a launch daemon configuration, build instructions, verification commands, troubleshooting guidance, and uninstall behavior. It requires reduced system protections, including disabled SIP and approval of a third-party kernel extension. The project also emphasizes that Apple Intelligence eligibility depends on more than the spoofed region, including account region, language settings, device support, AMFI status, and Private Cloud Compute availability. It is best understood as an experimental compatibility workaround for advanced macOS users who understand the security tradeoffs. -

This solution is free for anyone to use and learn from. If you’d like to see more projects like this one, consider using some of our products from the AWS Marketplace or share them with someone you might think would be interested in using them. This stack was created out of frustration due to the fact that to this day there's no easy way to have a full email server without the overhead of installing and configuring all servers needed to handle incoming and outgoing messages. We wanted something simple, with no interface and no server management, so we came up with S3-Email. This included AWS SES as our email server (receive and send) and S3 as our database and interface. Then we tied everything together with a bit of code via AWS Lambda. The result is an unmanaged email server with unlimited email addresses that also offers the benefit of easily organizing messages by adding the + character to the email names. The + is converted to a /, which correlates to an object path in S3. -
