...Clearly, in order to achieve this we needed to do something special to achieve very low-latency and high-throughput with our Java platform. Performance testing showed that using queues to pass data between stages of the system was introducing latency, so we focused on optimising this area. The Disruptor is the result of our research and testing. ...The encryption uses AES-256 twice so it is harder to crack than the industry standard pure AES 256bit implementation (theoretical key size is 512 bit). The software writes encrypted data in ASCII text format which can be cut'n'pasted to messaging apps or to emails and back to Inner Circle when decrypting data. IMPORTANT: The software requires new OpenJDK 16 (Not Oracle's J2RE 1.8) to run. Install, for example, AdoptOpenJDK for Windows. NOTE: By using encryption twice the implementation is (in theory) vulnerable to Meet-In-The-Middle attack reducing key size to 256bit but the attack still requires 2^256 bytes of memory making it impossible in practice. -
