    Automated CD/DVD ripper program

    After a catastrophic disk failure, I needed to re-rip several hundred CDs and DVDs. None of the available solutions worked quite the way I wanted them to work, so I decided to spend a little time making a script to remove as much pain as possible from the process. The idea here is to have a system which is comprised of three parts - a ripper daemon, an encoder daemon, and a frontend. I'm planning to use avahi to automate discovery of the backend pieces, udisk to automate discovery of optical drives, and perl to glue it all together. ...
