It can be useful for organising and finding your backup media in a database as well as physically. The short string is meant to serve as a unique identifier that can be used both as a primary key in a database and as the label for the medium itself. This small project was born out of a personal need to organise my DVD archive. -

Purpose: a) create "Hard Links" to the media tracks. It can put these links anywhere on the drive and they would still point to the original track. Now, we can add or delete a compilation in a matter of seconds because we are not copying the tracks, And b) add a random number prefix to each track that is easily changed which will change the order in which the tracks are played. -
