Ksnip is a Qt based cross-platform screenshot tool that provides many annotation features for your screenshots.

Multithreading is used to enable capturing many frames in a short time interval. Works with "normal" applications on the desktop as well as with OpenGL games (that's the only stuff I've tested). Qtape is a recording program, currently only available for Linux, which can be used to make recordings of a desktop and webcam at the same time. It is possible to make a full-screen recording of just the desktop, webcam, or even use a PDF as slides. It can also layout several of those in the output video at the same time.
