    pretty-bytes

    pretty-bytes

Convert bytes to a human readable string: 1337 → 1.34 kB

pretty-bytes is a JavaScript utility for converting raw byte counts into compact, human-readable size strings. It uses decimal SI units by default, turning values such as 1337 bytes into 1.34 kB. The library can display bits instead of bytes and can switch to binary prefixes such as KiB when appropriate. Signed output is available for showing positive or negative size differences. Formatting can be localized, and developers can control fractional digits, spacing, and non-breaking spaces....

    CRC RevEng

    CRC RevEng

Arbitrary-precision CRC calculator and algorithm finder

CRC RevEng is a portable, arbitrary-precision CRC calculator and algorithm finder. It calculates CRCs using any of the 113 preset algorithms, or a user-specified algorithm to any width. It calculates reversed CRCs to give the bit pattern that produces a desired forward CRC. CRC RevEng also reverse-engineers any CRC algorithm from sufficient correctly formatted message-CRC pairs and optional known parameters. It comprises powerful input interpretation options. Compliant with Ross Williams' Rocksoft(tm) model of parametrised CRC algorithms.

    bcal

    bcal

Byte CALculator for storage conversions and calculations

...Storage, hardware and firmware developers work with numerical calculations regularly e.g., storage unit conversions, address calculations etc. If you are one and can't calculate the hex address offset for (512 - 16) MiB immediately, or the value when the 43rd bit of a 64-bit address is set, bcal is for you. Though it started with storage, the scope of bcal isn't limited to the storage domain. Feel free to raise PRs to simplify other domain-specific numerical calculations so it can evolve into an engineer's utility. bcal follows Ubuntu's standard unit conversion and notation policy. Only 64-bit operating systems are supported.

    file digest

A command-line utility for calculating and verifying file checksums.

...Usage: digest [-c] <algorithm> <filename(s)> For example, if you want to calculate the checksums using skein512/256 algorithm, use this command: digest skein512/256 * > checksums.skein To verify the checksums: digest -c skein512/256 checksums.skein You can get a full list of supported algorithms and test the performance of different algorithms on your PC using the command: digest test <iterations> <filename> This will calculate hash sum of <filename> multiple times (number of times is specified by <iterations>) and output the results with precise timings. Note: if you have a 64-bit operating system, use 64-bit binary of the utility, because it is significantly faster for large files.

    JavaBitWise

A bitwise calculator for two integers.

A two's compliment calculator designed for specifically for Java, but is still effective for just about any other language. It will accept two integer values and will show the binary, octal, and hexadecimal equivalence, and show how the bits interact with the logical operators not, and, or, and xor, and how primitive types are cast into other types. If there is a feature that you would like to see, let me know and I will see what I can do. I am working on a major update to how the interface works.
