A handy tool designed to help beginner Astronomers. The software Astronomy CCD Calculator uses NASA/SkyView survey resource which provides CCD images of the night sky.It helps you plan an observation by letting you play with different instruments resulting various "Fields Of View" so you can see what your camera will capture and choose the best target for the session.

This program is designed for phtographer who need to know different DoF in each apertures under fixed environment factors. It is a one-page calculator. Just input the film/sensor size and focal length of lens, DoF of each different aperture will be calculated and presentated.

DOFView is a "Depth of Field" Calculator. It is a small application written in C++/Qt for Window and Linux to evaluate the effect of the focal, subject distance, and the f-Number change, on the depth of field. DOFView will report near and far distance limits, hyperfocal, total DoF etc., both in textual or graphical format. A simulation of what can be seen in the camera viewfinder is also shown in 3D. The application was inspired by my Nikon D5100, even if the user can set information and use this program selecting among hundreds of compact or DSLR camera models.
