Query2Report, Q2R, is a light weight web based report/dashboard build and publish application. Q2R transforms bunch SQL queries to charts/graphs and displays them in a report. Report has one or more elements arranged in form of rows and columns. Element is defined by title, sql query, database connection, type of graph/table rendered and refresh interval. The element individually have auto refresh for real time reporting use cases. The different elements of a report fetches data from same or different databases so it’s possible to build a report whose data is fetched from different database. Role based security allows the application users to create a "Public Report" or a "Personal Report". "Public Reports" are read only for non admin users whereas read/write for admin users and "Personal Reports" are exclusive to report authors. By clicking on the desired element in the report marks the element to auto refresh every 5 minutes by default (default can be changed).
