authoscope is a scriptable network authentication cracker. While the space for common service bruteforce is already very well saturated, you may still end up writing your own python scripts when testing credentials for web applications. The scope of authoscope is specifically cracking custom services. This is done by writing scripts that are loaded into a lua runtime. Those scripts represent a single service and provide a verify(user, password) function that returns either true or false. Concurrency, progress indication, and reporting is magically provided by the authoscope runtime. -

An old KSH script to block SSH brute force attempts. Originally posted to seclists.org. (https://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2005/Sep/27) The great-grandaddy of SSH tcpwrapper / iptables, supporting SSH blocking scripts. I have made a slight alteration to the script to secure it if anyone has the old original in circulation. It has clearly come to my attention that my work was never credited by other authors which is very disappointing. While my intention was to not continue to support this code actively after release, as I was donating it to the OS Community, I would have like to have been recognized by other authors in the OpenSource community, who sadly have also sought to profit from the idea. ...
