Linux performance monitoring on-screen or to CSV file
nmon is short for Nigel's Performance Monitor It either shows you the stats on-screen updating once a second or saves the data to a CSV file for later analysis and graphing. For details see the homepage ==> http://nmon.sourceforge.net
Please use the latest version.
The new version "njmon" outputs JSON format that a lot of tools use these days. It integrates well with saving data directly to InfluxDB and graphing with Grafana.
Master/node to gather and graph "everything" on your systems using Tobi Oetiker's rrdtool. It can optionally warn your surveillance software. This software package was originally called LRRD. The project. Please see http://munin-monitoring.org/
...(without installing extra software on your servers, just by SSH communication plain old UNIX commands).https://sites.google.com/site/ronuitzaandam/
Your entire datacenter can be automatically inventoried by supplying hostname, username & password for each server, either “one by one” or via an automated CSV host-list import file.
This software goes great with other UNIX software like WinSCP and Putty etc !!!
Filebench is a file system and storage benchmark that can generate both micro- and macro-workloads. It employs versatile Workload Model Language (WML) for detailed workload specification. Filebench includes several popular macro-workloads in its distribution: Web-server, Mail-server, Database-server, and others.
New owners (Oracle), new rules: Vdbench has been moved to Oracle Technology Network (OTN) http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/vdbench-downloads-1901681.html
BEYE (Binary EYE) is a free, portable, advanced file viewer with built-in editor for binary, hexadecimal and disassembler modes. It contains a highlight AVR/Java/i86-AMD64/ARM-XScale/PPC-64 and other disassembler, full preview of MZ,NE,PE,ELF and other.
LDAP Directory Server Monitoring tool with focus on 389 DS / Red Hat / Sun / Oracle ODSEE and Open LDAP. IBM Tivoli and Novell eDirectory. Other Directory Services are also supprted.
A powerful C-written web application testing and load generating tool. It uses HTTP, FTP and TLS/SSL stacks, simulating tens of thousand users / clients each with own IP-address. The goal is to provide an alternative to Spirent Avalanche and Ixia IxLoad.
The Flexible Filesystem Benchmark (FFSB) is a cross-platform filesystem performance measurement tool. It uses customizable profiles to measure of different workloads, and it supports multiple groups of threads across multiple filesystems.
nfsreplay is a tool to replay Network File System traffic. It can be used for server and client benchmarking under a wide range of workloads. It allows temporal and spatial scaling of the original trace.
ABGraph is a simple tool to benchmark webservers. The program uses ab (apache benchmark) to actually benchmark the selected remote host. A graph in PNG format is generated with gnuplot and saved to the selected path/file.
BencHTTP is a utility to test the performance of HTTP servers under load. It is highly configurable via simple script files and allows extensive customisation of HTTP requests. The current server performance is continuously displayed during the test.
Open System Testing Architecture - a distributed software testing architecture designed around CORBA. The current toolset has the capability of performing scripted Web (HTTP and HTTPS) heavy load tests with performance measurements from Win32 platforms.
A program to draw (and save the results to files) a diagramm that shows the execution time of a programm, which does some floating point calculations, in dependency of the number of used threads.
It saves the result as a gnuplot file and a CSV file.
the shootin: similar to the 'great computer language shootout', but with same-thing requirements rather than the shootout's same-way benchmarks at http://shootin.sourceforge.net/
The PDEPP Webserver "pdeppd" is a small HTTP/1.0 server which currently
implements most of the HTTP/1.0 standard except the POST method and
authentication.
SSLider is a web server benchmarking and testing tool supporting HTTP/HTTPS, cookies, data submission via POST, and scripted site tests suitable for CGI application and servlet testing.
