A UPnP Renderer for Enigma2
Since I had my Dreambox, I have been looking for a UPnP renderer. End of 2012 an implementation seemed to appear, but it wouldn't run on my DM7025 -- probably too old. So I finished my own implementation of a UPnP renderer after all and the initial release did work on the DM7025. Sorry to say, however, for all owners of a DM7025, I have moved to a VU Ultimo with OpenPLI by now and I will not maintain backward compatibility. You should be able to install the renderer by downloading the latest version from the SF "Files" section, copy it to your Enigma2 based box and run "opkg install <absolut file name>". I have tried to list all dependencies in the package, so they should install automatically. As, however, I have been experimenting quite some time, my box is no longer "clean". If you exerience any problems, please report them using "Tickets" on the SF page.

Audio Transcription software for Linux (Vlc) with a foot pedal
Footswitch 2 (Basic) is a media player for transcription on Linux. This version is a stripped down version of Footswitch2, containing only the absolute essentials for transcription. Written in python and using the python bindings for VLC it allows a transcriber to control the audio or video with a footpedal, and includes a set of macros that integrate into LibreOffice. This allows the transcriber to control the media player from within Libreoffice as well, making it useful for those who do not yet own a foot pedal. Control of the media player from LibreOffice can be via Hotkeys or an integrated toolbar. As fs2 Basic uses LibreOffice for the transcription input, it means you are working in a world class editor, which can produce output files in most popular formats including MS Word files. If moving from Footswitch2 to Footswitch2 Basic, any existing database files will be converted for you.
