Efficiently rip CDs to MP3 files
This project is designed to help people rip lots of CDs to mp3 for their own personal use in a way that allows them make the best use of time.
Automated CD/DVD ripper program
After a catastrophic disk failure, I needed to re-rip several hundred CDs and DVDs. None of the available solutions worked quite the way I wanted them to work, so I decided to spend a little time making a script to remove as much pain as possible from the process. The idea here is to have a system which is comprised of three parts - a ripper daemon, an encoder daemon, and a frontend. I'm planning to use avahi to automate discovery of the backend pieces, udisk to automate discovery of optical drives, and perl to glue it all together. I'd like to make the backends modular, but for the time being, I'm going to be hard-coding the encode formats (mp3/mp4) and programs used (lame, handbrake-cli, cdparanoia).
MH-Ripper will become an 'all-in-one'-Tool for ripping audio-cd's to mp3/ogg including automatic creation of playlists and covers for customized mp3-samplers. - work is still in progress ...

ripperX fork to clean the code and port to GTK+ 3
Rippix is a fork of ripperX, a fast and easy to use CD ripper. While ripperX does it's job good to rip and encode songs from a CD, it uses a rather outdated user interface. Rippix tries to fill this gap. This includes porting Rippix to GTK+ 3. Additionally, many deprecated code gets rewritten and documentation will be added. 'Why a fork?' you might ask. Well, after some hacking on the ripperX code, it appeared to me that I had to do more modifications in order to port to GTK+ 3 conveniently than what could be appreciable by ripperX devs, like removing all the XPM images (including the logo) from the UI.
