In applications such as audio denoising, music transcription, music remixing, and audio-based forensics, it is desirable to decompose a single-channel recording into its respective sources. To perform such tasks, we present a new software tool to perform source separation by painting on time-frequency visualizations of sound. Initial results shows the software can achieve state-of-the-art separation results compared to prior work.

...The orignal Clavia software still works o.k. on the latest o.s. for PC and Mac, so you don't really need the open source editor. But since the Modular G2 synthesizer is discontinued by Clavia, there may come a day that the editor doesn't work anymore on a future new o.s. The goal of this project is to have an alternative in place when that day comes, and in the mean time add some functionality the original editor doesn;t have, like a G2 Vst.
