  • IPS Framework

A simple Python framework for loosely-coupled multiphysics simulations

The IPS framework was developed to support loosely-coupled integrated modeling of fusion plasmas (and was originally the Integrated Plasma Simulator). However, the design is quite general, and is suitable for many scientific and engineering domains. In addition to plasma physics, it is also being used in the engineering of batteries. One of the novel features of the IPS framework is its ability to support parallelism at multiple levels: components can launch individual parallel tasks, and also launch multiple tasks concurrently. The framework can execute multiple components concurrently, and even multiple simulations, all within the same pool of compute nodes.

  • itom Icon

itom - an Open Source Measurement, Automation and Evaluation Software

itom is an open source software suite for operating measurement systems, laboratory automation and data evaluation. One main application of itom is the development and operation of sensor and measurement system for instance in a laboratory environment. Therefore, the software has to be able to communicate with a wide range of different hardware systems, such as cameras or actuators and should provide a diversified and as complete as possible set of evaluation and data processing methods. Additionally, the rapid prototyping of modern measurement and inspection setups requires a system, where parameters or components can easily be changed at runtime, necessitating the availability of an embedded scripting language. Finally, when operating a measurement system, it is also desirable to extend the graphical user interface by system adapted dialogs and windows.

  • PROPER Optical Propagation Library

Routines for wavefront propagation in IDL, Matlab, and Python

PROPER is a library of routines for the propagation of wavefronts through an optical system using Fourier-based methods. It was developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for modeling stellar coronagraphs, but it can be applied to other optical systems were diffraction propagation is of concern. It is currently available for IDL (Interactive Data Language), Matlab and Python (2.7 & 3.x). It includes routines for generating complex apertures and obscurations and aberrations (Zernike & PSD-defined). It includes a model of a deformable mirror for wavefront control. The routines perform near and far field propagation with automatic selection of propagators. All Python users are urged to download v3.0b, which has some major bug fixes. The latest Python version is v3.0b released on 6 Mar 2018. IDL and Matlab versions are v3.0a from 22 Jan 2018.

Classic BCPL for the ATARI ST

BCPL was designed by Martin Richards at Cambridge University (1966)

Here you will find a collection of BCPL tools I've gathered from the net, cleaned up and ported to the Atari ST. This involved fixing bugs, reducing stack usage and making the code compile in 16bit via Pure C (Turbo C for the Atari ST). Source credits include: Martin Richards - BCPL Kit Robert Nordier (Translated interp to C) Serge Vakulenko (Translated cg/syn/trn to C) I'm sure there are other names, but those are the ones on the source files. The code now compiles clean for the Atari ST, so it should work for anything else.

WSClean is a fast widefield interferometric imager

WSClean (w-stacking clean) is a fast generic widefield imager. It uses the w-stacking algorithm and can make use of the w-snapshot algorithm. As of Feb 2014, it is 2-12 times faster than CASA's w-projection, depending on the array configuration. It supports full-sky imaging and proper beam correction for homogeneous dipole arrays such as the MWA. WSClean allows Hogbom and Cotton-Schwab cleaning and has wideband, multiscale, compressed sensing and joined-polarization deconvolution modes. All operations are performed on the CPU.
