Main catalogue is Tycho2 with more than 2.5 millions of bright stars. Customized internal catalogue of non-stellar objects has been composed of several sources like NGC, IC, PGC, Messier etc. and contains more than 100,000 of objects. The planetarium allows you to connect your telescope via ASCOM6 platform. You can search for solar or moon eclipses, planet conjunctions and other events in given time range. Supports work with overlayed DSS-FITS images directly on the map.

    stellarics

Inverse Compton emission from heliospheres of sun and stars

Cosmic ray electrons scatter on the photon fields around stars, including the sun, to create gamma rays by the inverse Compton effect. This program computes the spectrum and angular distribution of this emission. The software also includes general-purpose routines for inverse Compton scattering on a given electron spectrum, for example for interstellar or astrophysical source modelling. For further information see these publications: http://arxiv.org/abs/astro-ph/0607563, http://arxiv.org/abs/0801.2178, http://arxiv.org/abs/1104.2093, http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2013NuPhS.239..266O and this conference presentation: https://confluence.slac.stanford.edu/download/attachments/130879399/poster_symposium_sun_2012.pdf and the corresponding conference paper http://arxiv.org/abs/1307.6798 2017 June 16: now available from gitlab https://gitlab.mpcdf.mpg.de/aws/stellarics which will be used for future develpments.

    MIST

    MIST

A MATLAB toolbox to simulate optical systems

Modal Interferometer Simulation Tool (MIST) is a MATLAB toolbox that can simulate arbitrary resonant optical systems in the paraxial beam approximation. It allows the user to define any optical setup (composed typically of laser sources, mirrors, lenses, electro-optical modulators and detectors) and to compute the static laser field at any point. It uses a Hermite-Gauss modal decomposition to simulate diffraction limited optics. This tool is being developed mainly for simulation of large scale interferometers with resonant cavities used for the detection of gravitational waves. Subscribe to the mailing list for updates and news. If you use MIST in your own simulation work, please cite is as G. Vajente, "Fast modal simulation of paraxial optical systems: the MIST open source toolbox" Classical and Quantum Gravity 30, 075014 (2013)

    FABS

    FABS

Fluorescence and absorption spectroscopy made easy

FABS is a program designed to run a fluorescence/absorption spectrometer on Windows. The program analyzes spectra and provides graphs and data files. Users may choose to input video files from cell phones or other cameras, still images, or even live streams of video from webcams. FABS can perform any necessary calibration and image preprocessing. Experienced users have a number of more advanced options such as background subtraction, adjustments for nonlinearities in detector response, and graph smoothing. FABS was designed with students in mind, as a way to help high schoolers and undergraduates learn about spectroscopy without paying for expensive equipment and software. Accompanying this software is a hardware design, which can be used as a bare-bones spectrometer that will provide quantitative absorption and fluorescence emission spectra at an extremely low cost. It uses only materials that many people can find around their home.
