PyCosmic is a tool to detect and clean single images from the disturbing cosmic ray hits. It was designed and tested specifically for CALIFA and other fiber-fed integral-field spectroscopy dataset. It is written in Python and can be executed from the command line. New release is version v0.5. Updated to be compatible with numpy version 1.12. New release is version v0.4. It's now compatible with astropy for fits I/O and computation time is reduced by a factor of 2.

    galplot

    Plot GALPROP output

Plot package for GALPROP https://sourceforge.net/projects/galprop Plots models and data for cosmic-ray spectra, secondary/primary ratios, gamma rays, synchrotron. Includes gamma-ray source population synthesis and corresponding plots. For gamma rays, convolves models with the Fermi-LAT response. This release is to assess interest. It requires many input data files (not included) which will be made available as required. With the data provided cosmic-ray spectra and ratios and source population synthesis will work. ...

    gcr_convert

converts cosmic-ray files from GALPROP for viewing / plotting.

The GALPROP program (http://galprop.stanford.edu) computes cosmic-ray propagation in the Galaxy, in 2D or 3D. The ouput cosmic-ray distribution is in the form of FITS files which however are not convenient for viewing or plotting with the standard ftools program fv, since the files have 4 or 5 dimensional arrays (due to the momentum and species axes) while fv handles only 3 dimensional arrays. This program converts to fv-compatible FITS files, either from 2D to (R,z) or from 3D to (x,z) at y=0 or (x,y) at z=0, in each case for a chosen cosmic-ray species. ...

    galprop_propel

GALPROP update for accurate propagation calculation

The GALPROP program (http://galprop.stanford.edu) computes cosmic-ray propagation numerically. To obtain manifestly accurate solutions an explicit method is now available to replace the Crank-Nicolson operator-splitting method. This can be implemented in the public version of GALPROP with the update provided here. Instructions: replace the four files propel.cc, propel_diagnostics, Galdef.cc and Galdef.h and rebuild the executable.
