    Paperless-ng

    Paperless-ng

A supercharged version of paperless, scan, index and archive docs

Paperless is a simple Django application running in two parts, a Consumer (the thing that does the indexing) and a Web server (the part that lets you search & download already-indexed documents). Paper is a nightmare. Environmental issues aside, there’s no excuse for it in the 21st century. It takes up space, collects dust, doesn’t support any form of a search feature, indexing is tedious, it’s heavy and prone to damage & loss. I wrote this to make “going paperless” easier. I do not have to worry about finding stuff again. I feed documents right from the post box into the scanner and then shred them. Perhaps you might find it useful too. Paperless-ng is a fork of the original paperless project. It changes many things both on the surface and under the hood. Paperless-ng was created because I feel that these changes are too big to be pushed into the main repository right away.

    Perceptual Similarity Metric and Dataset

    Perceptual Similarity Metric and Dataset

    LPIPS metric. pip install lpips

While it is nearly effortless for humans to quickly assess the perceptual similarity between two images, the underlying processes are thought to be quite complex. Despite this, the most widely used perceptual metrics today, such as PSNR and SSIM, are simple, shallow functions, and fail to account for many nuances of human perception. Recently, the deep learning community has found that features of the VGG network trained on ImageNet classification has been remarkably useful as a training loss for image synthesis. But how perceptual are these so-called "perceptual losses"? What elements are critical for their success? To answer these questions, we introduce a new dataset of human perceptual similarity judgments. We systematically evaluate deep features across different architectures and tasks and compare them with classic metrics. We find that deep features outperform all previous metrics by large margins on our dataset.

    Piano transcription

    Piano transcription

Task of transcribing piano recordings into MIDI files

Piano transcription is an open-source high-resolution piano transcription system by ByteDance that converts raw audio recordings of piano performance into symbolic MIDI files — detecting note onsets, offsets, pitch, velocity, and even pedal usage. The system is implemented in Python (PyTorch) and is capable of accurate transcription of polyphonic piano recordings, even with complex passages and pedal techniques, making it suitable for classical piano music. By using this transcription tool, users can transform live performance audio (or recordings) into editable, machine-readable MIDI — enabling tasks such as analysis, editing, remixing, or generation of piano music. The authors used this system to build a large-scale classical piano MIDI dataset (see next project), but as a standalone tool it enables researchers, musicians, or hobbyists to transcribe their own piano recordings automatically.

    PixelRAG

    PixelRAG

The beginning of scalable pixel-native search

PixelRAG is a visual retrieval-augmented generation system that searches documents by how they look, not only by the text they contain. It renders web pages, PDFs, and images into screenshot tiles, then performs retrieval over those visual representations. This approach preserves layout, tables, charts, diagrams, infographics, and other visual structure that traditional HTML or text parsing can miss. The project includes tools for rendering, chunking, embedding, indexing, and serving visual search indexes. It also provides a hosted API with a prebuilt Wikipedia index, plus local pipelines for building indexes from custom documents. PixelRAG can be used with Claude through the pixelbrowse skill, giving agents the ability to inspect pages visually instead of relying only on raw markup.

    Poetiq

    Poetiq

Reproduction of Poetiq's record-breaking submission to the ARC-AGI-1

poetiq-arc-agi-solver is the open-source codebase from Poetiq that replicates their record-breaking submission to the challenging benchmark suite ARC-AGI (both ARC-AGI-1 and ARC-AGI-2). The project demonstrates a system that orchestrates large language models (LLMs) — like those from major providers — with carefully engineered prompting, reasoning workflows, and dynamic strategies, to tackle the abstract, logic-heavy problems in ARC-AGI. Instead of relying on a single prompt or fixed strategy, their solver dynamically adapts the reasoning path, selecting what to ask or analyze next depending on intermediate results — effectively compositing reasoning, perception, and program synthesis (or symbolic manipulation) in a loop. The repository allows others to reproduce their results, experiment with different LLM backends (e.g. the user may supply keys for supported models), and observe how their adaptive meta-system handles the logic and abstraction challenges.

    Procgen

    Procgen

    Procedurally-Generated Game-Like Gym-Environments

Procgen (short for Procedural Generation Benchmark) is a suite of 16 procedurally generated, game-like reinforcement learning environments designed to evaluate generalization and sample efficiency in RL agents. Unlike fixed, deterministic environments, Procgen generates new levels (layouts, obstacles, visual variation) each episode, making it impossible for an agent to simply memorize trajectories. The environments are designed to run very quickly (thousands of steps per second on a single core) to facilitate large-scale experiments and make benchmarking efficient. The benchmark supports both “easy” and “hard” difficulty modes, letting researchers trade off computational cost vs challenge. The repo provides a C++ core for game logic and rendering (with support for gym/Gym3 wrappers) plus Python bindings and interactive mode for human play testing.

    PromptSource

    PromptSource

Toolkit for creating, sharing and using natural language prompts

PromptSource is a toolkit for creating, sharing and using natural language prompts. Recent work has shown that large language models exhibit the ability to perform reasonable zero-shot generalization to new tasks. For instance, GPT-3 demonstrated that large language models have strong zero- and few-shot abilities. FLAN and T0 then demonstrated that pre-trained language models fine-tuned in a massively multitask fashion yield even stronger zero-shot performance. A common denominator in these works is the use of prompts which has gained interest among NLP researchers and engineers. This emphasizes the need for new tools to create, share and use natural language prompts. Prompts are functions that map an example from a dataset to a natural language input and target output. PromptSource contains a growing collection of prompts (which we call P3: Public Pool of Prompts). As of January 20, 2022, there are ~2'000 English prompts for 170+ English datasets in P3.

    PySINDy

    PySINDy

A package for the sparse identification of nonlinear dynamical systems

PySINDy is a Python library that implements the Sparse Identification of Nonlinear Dynamics (SINDy) method for discovering mathematical models of dynamical systems from data. The framework focuses on identifying governing equations that describe the behavior of complex physical systems by selecting sparse combinations of candidate functions. Instead of fitting a purely predictive machine learning model, PySINDy attempts to recover interpretable differential equations that explain how a system evolves over time. This approach is particularly valuable in scientific fields such as physics, engineering, and biology where researchers seek both predictive accuracy and theoretical insight. The library provides tools for constructing libraries of candidate functions, performing sparse regression, and validating discovered models against observed data. It integrates with standard Python scientific computing libraries, making it easy to apply to experimental datasets or simulated systems.

    PyText

    PyText

A natural language modeling framework based on PyTorch

PyText is a deep-learning based NLP modeling framework built on PyTorch. PyText addresses the often-conflicting requirements of enabling rapid experimentation and of serving models at scale. It achieves this by providing simple and extensible interfaces and abstractions for model components, and by using PyTorch’s capabilities of exporting models for inference via the optimized Caffe2 execution engine. We use PyText at Facebook to iterate quickly on new modeling ideas and then seamlessly ship them at scale. Distributed-training support built on the new C10d backend in PyTorch 1.0. Mixed precision training support through APEX (trains faster with less GPU memory on NVIDIA Tensor Cores). Extensible components that allows easy creation of new models and tasks.

    Qwen3-Omni

    Qwen3-omni is a natively end-to-end, omni-modal LLM

Qwen3-Omni is a natively end-to-end multilingual omni-modal foundation model that processes text, images, audio, and video and delivers real-time streaming responses in text and natural speech. It uses a Thinker-Talker architecture with a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) design, early text-first pretraining, and mixed multimodal training to support strong performance across all modalities without sacrificing text or image quality. The model supports 119 text languages, 19 speech input languages, and 10 speech output languages. It achieves state-of-the-art results: across 36 audio and audio-visual benchmarks, it hits open-source SOTA on 32 and overall SOTA on 22, outperforming or matching strong closed-source models such as Gemini-2.5 Pro and GPT-4o. To reduce latency, especially in audio/video streaming, Talker predicts discrete speech codecs via a multi-codebook scheme and replaces heavier diffusion approaches.

    Recurrent Interface Network (RIN)

    Recurrent Interface Network (RIN)

Implementation of Recurrent Interface Network (RIN)

Implementation of Recurrent Interface Network (RIN), for highly efficient generation of images and video without cascading networks, in Pytorch. The author unawaredly reinvented the induced set-attention block from the set transformers paper. They also combine this with the self-conditioning technique from the Bit Diffusion paper, specifically for the latents. The last ingredient seems to be a new noise function based around the sigmoid, which the author claims is better than cosine scheduler for larger images. The big surprise is that the generations can reach this level of fidelity. Will need to verify this on my own machine. Additionally, we will try adding an extra linear attention on the main branch as well as self-conditioning in the pixel space. The insight of being able to self-condition on any hidden state of the network as well as the newly proposed sigmoid noise schedule are the two main findings.
