    bKappa

    bKappa

    Cross-platform incremental backup

...It is crude in the sense that bKappa only tracks files by name, not by content. This means it cannot detect that a file has been renamed and makes full copies of renamed and partially modified files. It generates standalone restore scripts for the POSIX shell and PowerShell. While it saw real use, bKappa isn't tested enough to be your main backup software. If you are looking for that, BorgBackup and restic are good options as of 2024. Warning! Old 1.x versions of bKappa are insecure. Do not use them. Because backup metadata is serialized with the "pickle" Python module (https://docs.python.org/2.7/library/pickle.html), a malicious backup can take over your machine.

    Just Imagine (OBSOLETE)

Obsolete, Time-Machine like utility for Macintosh

Furthermore, much of the functionality that this project provided is now supplied by Apple's Time Machine utility. Old description: Just Imagine automates the generation of complete system disk images on OS/X or OS/X Server via a scheduled launchd reboot, running while the system disk is mounted read-only and no...

    Pacmac Package Manager for Mac

    Pacmac Package Manager for Mac

Simple dependency-checking package manager for Mac OS X

Created as a more sensible alternative to MacPorts, Fink, and Homebrew, Pacmac was inspired by Archlinux's pacman, but is not a port. All files except packages are plain text, and all executables are scripts. No compilers are necessary to create packages, just request the package by name and Pacmac will resolve the dependencies for you.
