A nice tool for low-level managing of the parallel port and for experimenting with it. It uses GTK+ 2 for the GUI and runs on Linux and Windows (with mingw32).

LPT is a package manager for _compile_ freaks. Normally it can only do something good for you, if you install your linux from scratch. It has lots of features and has a console and x interface.
