    Gphoton is a simple 3d modeler and ray tracer. If you're looking for the best 3d modeler or best ray tracer, this isn't it. If you want to easily make some simple 3D primitives and see multiple reflections or dink with ray trace code, you might find this fun, read on. In 2nd grade we had a sub who taught us to draw 2pt perspective - life was never the same. My dad's drafting book taught that and 3pt persp. In art I was awed by Durer and the mirror in Van Eyke's Wedding. In the 70s-80s I was trying to do 3D on early computers - big BW pixels! By late 80s I saw ray tracing and had to write my own. I wrote the 1st ver while taking vector calculus and CAD programming classes c. '92. I was intrigued not only by the beauty of the math but also ray tracing curved metals. This is actually the 2nd ver, ported from MFC to gnome (with enhancements like optional GL) c. '00 with some help from David. Apr'17: Updated to compile on recent Ubuntu/Debian - still runs, even on a pi!

    A C++ library to easily create GUI-editable objects

    The project was born when I wanted to write a 3D modeling + rendering engine in C++. I wanted to create an easily expandable tool for the GUI, that will automatically know how to display the various objects for editing. The goal was to make each object "know" how it should be displayed and changed, so that a simple GUI tool can display complex objects, and new objects can be created without having to spend time creating the "widgets" for them. The basic requirements was: - The "GuiObjects" don't know which graphical toolkit (e.g. gtk) will be used to display them. - The objects can be displayed without knowledge of what exactly they are. - save/load/undo/etc. will be taken care of automatically. In addition, because this is a project I started to train in C++: - there will be no dynamic casting! (I hate them) - using c++0x (I want to learn - sorry!) I'm still working on implementing a ray tracing program with it, and maybe other tools as well

    Get as many FPS as you need and amazing effects by rendering HTML/CSS

    60 FPS and amazing effects by rendering HTML/CSS in WebGL, framework agnostic. HTML GL solves "the slow DOM problem" by creating WebGL representations of DOM elements and hiding actual DOM after. This speeds up HTML/CSS animations and transformations by using 3D hardware acceleration and allows to apply OpenGL effects as modern 3D games have. Using HTML GL you still work with HTML/CSS as you are common to, but DOM elements are just facades to their WebGL representations. These GPU accelerated textures are very effective from resources consuming perspective and are very cheap to transform or animate. Include HTMLGL.js into the project. Elements will be rendered in WebGL and their CSS Transform properties will be mapped to WebGL representation transformations. So DOM node itself will not be animated or displayed in order to avoid resource consumption.
