This project provides a set of solid modeling tools which aims to help processing 3D objects with complex topology and geometry that are widely used in many industrial applications (e.g., microstructure design and manufacturing, biomedical products and applications, jewelry products, reverse engineering). The system is completely GPU-based and heavily based on an implicit representation named LDNI. -

This project demonstrates the usefulness of 3D printing for optical imaging applications. We present a new optical phantom fabricated using inexpensive 3D printing methods with multiple materials, allowing for the placement of complex inhomogeneities in anatomically realistic geometries. We use diffuse optical tomography (DOT) with the Toast++ package to reconstruct optical parameters in 3D space within a printed mouse to show the applicability of the phantoms for developing whole animal optical imaging methods. ...
