Where did Yalla come from?
The idea of Yalla came from our own team at Lemonade Stand. We were tired of things falling through the cracks and not getting done when they should have because there was nowhere to keep track of them. Yalla was designed to organize all of that; however, we did not want a simple task management system. We wanted Yalla to do it all.
The other issue that we had with task management was the channel of communication. We had people talking to each other via Slack, texting, phone calls, emails, Groove, etc. trying to get things done. We designed Yalla to merge communication and task management to be on the same platform.
After this, the ideas never stopped flowing. Why not take all the software that we use to keep us organized and on task and make the greatest mashup that anyone has ever seen?
So that’s what we did. Yalla was born.
What does Yalla do?
Glad you asked! Yalla is an all-in-one team collaboration software that combines all features you might need to accomplish your work together. So say goodbye to sticky notes all over your desk and wave farewell to the 6 different softwares you’ve been trying to bounce around to keep your team organized!
Yalla has task boards, a chat function, company/client organization, free guest user capabilities, project folders, process funnels, calendar scheduling, time keeping, integrations, gantt chart views and more to come! The best part about Yalla combining multiple software into one, is it allows you to make Yalla work for you, rather than making your company work to fit Yalla.
The task boards inside of Yalla are the most extensive section to Yalla, and yet so easy and handy to use! You can create a single task, or multiple tasks at a time. Inside each task you can assign it to a team member, assign it to a company/client, assign it to one of your teams, give it a due date, give it a budget, and add a description to it if necessary. There’s a chat function inside of each task where you can tag anyone in the company using the @ symbol before their name and discuss what needs to be done. You can add subtasks to a task as well as assign each one to a separate team member and assign each subtask a due date. You can create list separators to organize both your task board as well as the subtasks within each individual task. You can drag and drop a task from your board to a team member’s icon and it will assign the task to them and move the task to their task board immediately. If you have a task that you need to complete often such as updating a spreadsheet each week, you can change a task to recur however often as you want. Have a task with a lot of subtasks that needs to be created according to each client that you sign on? Just change the task you already made into a template. That way you can recreate the detailed task at the click of a button! You can also activate a stopwatch on a task that will keep track of how much time you’ve worked on that task. Once you stop the time, and complete the task, it will record the time in your calendar time keeper.
Yalla’s chat function was made to replace Slack. You can set up different group chat rooms and invite whoever you want on your team to them. You can also have personal direct messages between you and another team member. This chat function is nice because it allows you to communicate clearly and in a timely manner with your team about all current tasks and projects. Yalla has a built-in GIF integration as well as sounds you can upload for users to customize their communication in a fun way! Finally, you can react to chat messages using emojis and you can create a task to be sent directly to your task board from any messages, that way you can stay on top of your workflow and be quick about it.
The company’s/clients function in Yalla provides the best way to organize your clients and all the information associated with them. You can create a new company for every client and add their contact information and logo to differentiate. Each company you add will have its own task board with tasks your team makes that specifically deals with that company’s projects. You can also add your contact person as a guest Yalla user so they can collaborate with you on the projects. This will allow transparency for you as well as clear communication on everything you’re working on for them. You can create projects within each company board to provide for a more organized workspace.
The projects tab is another space where you can collaborate with anyone on your team concerning different projects. This area acts as another task board where people can manage team projects, add tasks, and discuss issues.
The funnels tab allows you to streamline your workflow for any extended projects that need to be accomplished often. This functionality is meant to replace Trello because you can set up steps to each funnel, then move clients/tasks along to each step by dragging it over. Each step can be customized so that a certain team member is in charge of each one and will be notified when a new client/task is dropped into that step in the funnel. This way nothing and no one falls through the cracks.
Yalla contains a calendar where you can integrate with your Google calendar to see all of your events already set up. You can also see any tasks from your task board that have a due date assigned. This provides a perspective that is easier to prioritize which tasks need to be completed first. From this calendar, you can also keep track of your hours. Each time entry can be customized to a date, the time spent, description, company/project associated, break/team meeting, etc.
Yalla integrates with Freshbooks directly, making the accounting process flow. This integration allows payroll to glide along smoothly, you can import contacts and info that’s already entered into Freshbooks as new companies/clients inside of Yalla. You can also use this integration for billing purposes and sending invoices.
Yalla also integrates with Zapier, providing the opening for practically any other software to integrate with Yalla.
The gantt chart view provides a useful perspective on your company’s tasks all organized by user. Every task and subtask with an assigned due date can be viewed and altered in this timeline view. It’s a nifty feature for executives to ensure the company is running on track.
Yalla is the perfect team collaboration tool and task management software all in one simple, neat, little bundle.
Who does Yalla serve?
Yalla was originally designed for our own team (a digital marketing agency), and it was definitely built with digital marketing agencies in mind. However, as Yalla has grown, we have discovered that it can be an incredibly efficient tool for anyone who is working with a team and collaborating on projects together.
It can also serve as an awesome, and cost-effective (free) task-management tool for an individual!
What is Yalla’s pricing structure?
Yalla has two pricing tiers. Free and slightly-more-than free.
The free version has a limit of three users, but those users have access to team management, calendar, time keeping/management, as well as unlimited tasks and personal tasks. This is not a free trial. This can be used for as long as you would like!
The paid tier opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. The fee is per user ($12/month if paid monthly or $10/month if paid annually). There is no cap to how many users can be added, but the price will adjust for each individual user.
We tried to make Yalla as cost effective as we possibly could. You get a whole lot of bang for not so much buck.
Are there contracts?
Not here! You won’t find any contracts within Yalla. We believe in 100 percent customer satisfaction, so if we haven’t made a product that improves your life as much as we hope that it will, feel free to cancel at any time!
How does Yalla compare to competitors?
Yalla is crazy powerful and awesome. This particular question does not have just one answer. Instead of trying to create one, we have included links to a few of our other articles here where you can check out specific comparisons to other platforms.
If you want a comparison against any other platform, just let us know!
Why do I need a demo before creating an account?
You can still be signed up for a free trial without the demo as a prerequisite, however we’ve found users get the most out of the experience after seeing it in use. The demo only takes 30 minutes and is an open space for questions and tutorial.
We understand that not everyone has 30 minutes of extra time on their hands, so the demo is more of a guideline that will help users have the best experience possible! We love to start setting up new users with their teams and a couple tasks and clients as they get started, that way they can actually see Yalla working for them!
What integrations does Yalla have?
Yalla integrates with Freshbooks, Google Calendar, and Zapier. The fact that we integrate with Zapier opens up the doors to basically everything. We’re also open to suggestions for any future integrations that will help make your workflow as smooth and seamless as possible!
How long is the Yalla demo typically?
A demo will typically only take around 30 minutes of your time.
This could be a lot longer depending on the questions that you have for our team. There are a lot of features in Yalla to unpack, and we want to make sure that you have a good understanding of all of them, so that you can take full advantage of the software when you sign up.
Does Yalla have a free trial?
Of course! Yalla offers a free trial of seven days to all new customers.
Does Yalla have a 24/7 support staff?
At this time, Yalla’s support staff is online and available Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm MST.
We will resolve your issues or concerns as quickly as possible within that time frame, and our support team is one of the friendliest that you will ever meet. They’re pretty cool people!
How secure is Yalla?
Yalla is very secure. For reference, we use Liquid Web to host the application files and server information can be gathered off of Liquid Web’s site. We’re on a Cloud VPS Server. The database data and file storage is with Amazon RDS https://aws.amazon.com/rds/ and S3 https://aws.amazon.com/s3/. For website encryption, Yalla uses HTTP encryption like any legit website.
How difficult is Yalla to use?
Yalla, although powerful, is very simple to use. Our mission is to make the user experience as intuitive and easy to use as possible. In case you don’t find it as easy as you’d like, we have staff that can help you with any questions you may have along the way, just use the little chat bubble at the bottom right corner of each Yalla screen. How long does it take to get up and running on a new Yalla account?
It depends. It only takes a matter of seconds to set up a new user, however when it comes to moving over all of your company’s information, like migrating to any other software, it will likely be a couple hours. One thing that we’ve implemented to make this process faster is our integrations. Our Freshbooks integration allows users to transfer over all clients and some of their contact info. Our Zapier integration could potentially provide this quick service as well. Either way, we have people who will guide you through every step of the way, whether it be through chat or on a zoom call!
What training is included when I sign up for Yalla?
All new users have the option to go through our onboarding process where we have new users do a screenshare call over zoom and help them set up their entire company into their new Yalla account. This lets the new user have hands-on experience to learn the software as we go. We have also created tutorial videos for most of Yalla’s functions, all you have to do to access them is click on that help/chat bubble at the bottom right of the Yalla screen and click inside the search bar that is labeled ‘search articles’. If you have a question about a function that we don’t have a video for yet, we’ll take that suggestion and create that video as soon as we can!
