Please note that this project is for distributing, discussing, and supporting the open source software we release. This site does not provide any SDKs nor general purpose developer support for the DCX set-top box family.
As competition in the video services industry continues to increase, cable operators require advanced technologies for delivering a superior digital viewing experience and exciting new applications. The DCX set-tops are loaded with features for improving bandwidth efficiency, providing high-definition video with surround sound audio, and bringing on-demand and interactive services to a connected home environment.

The DCX3501-M is the next generation all-digital, HD/DVR set-top that adds support for Dolby Volume multi-channel audio leveling and 1080p60 output over HDMI™. The integrated MoCA® 1.1 interface allows the DCX3501-M to serve as a multimedia hub for sharing content with other compatible devices on the home IP network. The DCX3501-M set-tops come standard with MoCA, a 500 GB hard drive and a 512MB DRAM.
• The DCX3501-M and its clients (DCX3200-M, DCX700-M) are available with integrated MoCA components and do not require separate MoCAto-Ethernet bridging devices.
• With the DCX3501-M’s higher performance, Motorola’s WHDVR solution is capable of supporting at least one hub plus up to 4 client settops simultaneously.
• The DCX3501-M is a fully functioning HD/DVR set-top that also provides centralized storage to other non-DVR set-tops on the home network. This provides flexibility to upgrade stand alone HD/DVR customers to WHDVR without installing new set-top devices in the home.
