Sorry for the late reaction to the issue - but due to some problems with sf.net I did not receive any mails on tracker actions ...
Regarding your problem:
Checksums are content dependent and NOT size dependent.
I create 2 files with the same size:
$ dd if=/dev/urandom of=f1 bs=512 count=2
$ dd if=/dev/urandom of=f2 bs=512 count=2
The files have the same size (1024 bytes...

update libgcj / gcj for the native build to a newer version, so handling of files with non-ASCII chars in their names should be safe.
(gcj 4.3 on linux works)

Are you using the native build on Windows?
This has problems wit non-ASCII file names due to bug in gcj.
Newer versions seem to work (linux 4.3 seems OK) but the windows native build uses a older version. I will try to use a newer gcj/libgcj for the next release - but it is not quite simple getting gcj compiled on windows :-(
Please use the java build of JSummer - this should be able handling...
