Chris: I'm not sure to have well undestood what you mean.
I changed in Lilypond-feta-design20.pfa, the /FamilyName property to feta20, but the font doesn't work in ftview.
Is it what you wanted?.

In OpenSuse 10.2, Rosegarden dir. is located at /opt/kde3/share/apps/.
I found 2 bad fonts (using Kcontrol fonts viewer):
= LilyPond-feta-design20.pfa
= LilyPond-feta-nummer-design10.pfa
One crashes Font viewer and the other KDE itself!
Using the other suggestion, I edited the feta.xml file in Rosegarden mappings dir to use a feta font taken right from Lilypond fonts dir.
It works...
