The problem may be due to the fact that fo:margin-left, fo:margin-right and fo:text-indent are not defined simultaneoulsy, but at different levels in the style hierarchy.
(cf. ODF spec - section 15.5.17)

(The paragraph properties are correctly retained in the named styles ("Initiant", etc). However, the associated automatic style overrides fo:margin-left alone. According to ODR spec v1.0, 15.5.17, fo:margin-left, fo:margin-right and fo:text-indent must always be defined simultaneously. If one of them is missing its value is considered 0cm.
So, if fo:margin-right is not...
