similar crashes occur for gamma, monochrome, posterize, sepia, exposure, sharpen.
but not the others.
that should help narrow it down ;)

With the 'configure effects in dialog' option in prefs checked, attempting to use the contrast and brightness effect causes seashore to crash.
the dialog will open, but upon adjusting any slider/clicking ok, seashore dies.
Nb. this only seems to occur reliably if the option has been applied during the same session. i have experienced the dialog working if the option was applied previously...

i am discovering puzzling/interesting things, though.
if i make the image more complex/many colours, it seems to be fine?
i shall email you a .zip (too big for sf) with a bunch explaining which work, which don't.
