Hm, I don't understand why it should be normal. Is it a synchronization issue?
When going const-quant (x264) or const-qual(theora) shuoldn't one be able to split the input into n segments, which are encoded on n cpus and later joined? Would that not result on near 100% load on all CPU-cores?.

Hi,
I am running 0.13.2 on FreeBSD with my new Phenom X4. X264 is correctly started with 4 threads (visible in the log-file), but the threads don't use all of the CPU.
During the first pass overall CPU-load is ~35% and during the second pass it is ~ 70%.
Should'nt it always be around 100%? How can I reach that? Or is this an mplayer problem?
Note that I don't think its other hardware...
