Спасибо за подтверждение. Запрос закрываю. В принципе в Free-SA есть возможность обрабатывать записи, которые по датам расположены в случайном порядке, но при такой обработке Free-SA теряет преимущество в скорости.

А журнал у вас от какого приложения, от Squid или 3proxy? То, что Free-SA отказывается его обрабатывать говорит о том, что в журнале много посторонних строк. Free-SA завершает работу, если дата начала оказывается старше даты конца...

Could you please try following:
1. Remove all locale= strings from your free-sa.conf
2. Run Free-SA in following way:
export LC_ALL=C
export LANG=C
free-sa

BTW, what is your system locale, i.e. what "locale" command returns?.

This indicates that fr_FR.UTF8 locale can't be initialized, i.e. it is not defined within your installation. Could you please try to run Free-SA with fr_FR.ISO8859-1 locale? Do you have /usr/lib/locale/fr_FR.utf8 directory?.

Do you have "iconv" command installed? If no then please install iconv package. After it you may either re-compile and re-install Free-SA or run iconv -f ISO8859-1 -t UTF8 < /usr/share/free-sa/fr.iso88591 > /usr/share/free-sa/fr.utf8.

However in this case, command line option -d will not work in any Free-SA 1.x, i.e. you may specify dates range but program will not use them or they will be used incorrectly. 2. Какая лицензия на патчи установлена автором.
3. На каких журналах у вас происходило падение Free-SA? (Squid или Postfix?)
