What would be very handy is to have some /etc/init.d
scripts so that autorip can run in the background on a
machine. Output would need to be
adjusted/updated/redirected to a log file.
This will allow autorip to be used on a headless 'music
server' machine, which streams audio over the network.
Simply insert CD, let autorip do it's magic and write
the mp3 files directly into the...

Would be very handy if you could do something like:
cvs diff myfile.cpp | xxdiff
and xxdiff takes the output from the 'cvs diff' (or in
fact, any diff command) and displays it in the GUI.

Yes... see my comments in the bug report. I've tried the
CVS->Rebuild Icons line, tried TweakUI to rebuild the cache,
tried the registry setting (I have it at 4095), and I don't
have the ShellIconCache file anywhere on the system. I've
tried all the 'FAQ' items; none work reliably. Probably
about 1 in 10 logins it'll work; the rest of the time this
icon...

The standard ones... should be a grey dotted rectangle.

Despite following the instructions for Max Cached Icon
registry entry, the ShellIconCache file, etc. I am still
getting a corrupt icon.
All icons are fine with the exception of the 'Ignored' icon
at 48x48 (i.e. the size used when the view option 'Tiles'
is selected on Windows XP). Occasionally, they appear
correctly, but more often than not they are corrupted
and random garbage.

It would be useful if there were a report or breakdown
of bugs by severity. The front page lists them by
status at the moment. It will be useful (especially
when a product goes into alpha/beta test stage) to be
able to get a quick overview by severity (e.g. product
can't go into beta test until all critical bugs have
been fixed)... or something like that.

The 'file' command was run from an SGI - on my RH7.3 system,
I get the same message. The appropriate line from the
/etc/magic file on the SGI is:
0 short 0155001 uxsgicore:20 SGI imagelib
image byte-swapped
I am developing an application using the libimage library,
available for download from SGI's web-site. This is
basically the...

The library fails to read byte-swapped SGI format
images. See attached for sample.
The file will display on an SGI using 'imgview test.rgb'.
The command 'file test.rgb' gives the following output:
test.rgb: SGI imagelib image byte-swapped.

I think this is related to bug 646556. See my comments there.

Possible solution - I'm not going to have a chance to check
this for a couple of days, but for others with problems:
It seems that in RH kernels, the version symbol definitions
are setup correctly in the relevant *.ver files within the
source directory. The trick is to make sure the build uses
the correct symbols, via the various __module__i586_up, etc...
