Oh oh.
I did a google search when I choose the name cigol and didn't turn up any relevent hits.
Unfortunately it looks like there was an unfortunate namespace collision.
I wrote cigol out of personal interest with very little formal training in the field of
machine learning. I can't imagine that Tom Mitchell referenced my work (also his work
predated mine by six years). He must have...

When I use HTML in a poll option, and go back to edit
the poll, the HTML isn't escaped correctly. This
prevents me from editing the poll. The specific HTML I
used was a link of the form example. The HTML
appeared to close the edit box prematurly, leaving a
portion of the poll item text unrendered and a portion
as uneditable text off to the side of...

This is announcing something I've written that might be of
interest to some of the map makers out there. AFAIK,
bzedit is the only map creation tool out there, and that
requires windows. BZTool is mainly useful if you like to
make maps by hand, in a text editor.
BZTool is a hacked-together command-line tool to build bzflag world files. It's written in java. Its uses include:

I /should/ have also mentioned that this is running on a linode (that is,
user mode linux). If relevant, the 1.7 bzfs (from stable) did not segfault.
If it isn't obvious, I wasn't familiar with strace until just now.

Loaded the bzflag-server package (BZFlag server 1.10.6.20040516)
from the debian testing distro. bzfs dies immediately with a
segmentation fault. gdb bzfs breaks with:
0x40184c0f in strlen () from /lib/libc.so.6.

If any other member of your team is hit, you die instead. A
genocide attack against your team kills only you. Not entirely a
bad flag.
It is probably not appropriate to simply drop the flag when a
teammate is hit, since this would eclipse the power of the normal
shield flag.
Probably a cute message should show up: "callsign1 took a bullet
for callsign2", or, in the case of...

Suggestion:
When I make a kill, I receive points equal to the number of kills the bad
guy has made since last spawning divided by three. I receive a
minimum of 1 point. I would keep fractional points, but you could round
down if you wanted.
When I die, I never lose more than one point, no matter what.
(When I kill someone with < -35 points, a...

Much more work needs to be done to make cigol an acceptable language, I acknowledge. I'm presently involved with another project -- expect not to see another cigol version release for several months. (Unless someone wants to contribute code.)
