  • Create Database - option

For all databases and both TPC-C and TPC-H. Ability to select an option in the "Build Options" to use a custom create database statement. This would allow the person running the test to change the layout on the disks as easy as they can now change the database size, number of users and other parameters. Allows for testing of very large and complex storage subsystems. I've...

  • TPC-H does not log all completion times

I haven't checked this under any other conditions. But on MS Windows/SQL Server if I pick the TPC-H option and configure 8 virtual users and 6 iterations on the last iteration for some of the users the final few queries do not produce a timing message. For those users who don't get completes for a few of the timing messages you also do not get a timing for the whole query set. For...

  • Followup: RE: SQL Server - creating custom database space

Thanks, But where would I do this? As I understand this is used to attach database that was previously detached. For example one of the test runs that I use has the primary on C: a file group with files on E,F,G another file group with files on E,F,G and the logs on H:. Other than creating and running a whole separate build of the database and then doing the sp_attach_db I'm not...

  • SQL Server - creating custom database space

I'm trying to test for a storage subsystem that has 4 LUNs that are attached to the server. For Oracle it is easy as I just use sqlplus and create the tpcc database space on the needed devices. But since the MS SQL Server version doesn't want to see a tpcc database I can't use the corresponding method. I've looked around and I feel I missing a simple fix. I know the SQL I need to do...
