I would expect this to generate the same warning as 8.4:
expected integer but got "1.5"
Man pages for 8.5a5 don't indicate a change in the float-related behavior here.

using tclsh8.5a4:
% append
wrong # args: should be "append varName ?value value ...?"
% lassign
wrong # args: should be "lassign list varname ?varname ...?"
%
Note that [append] uses "varName", while lassign uses "varname".
Noticed while using tclsh8.5a4 to sanity check partcl (tcl on parrot)'s test
suite.
