Thanks for responding.
>> Have you tried setting those values today?
Based on a previous thread, I was under the impression that map entries don't propagate down the processing chain into the document XMLs (or at least not yet.) I tried a few tricks, but the implementation and its spec are tight and eventually choked off my efforts.

Any chance there could be some support to insert variable data during an ant build? Ideally, I could supply version , copyright, etc. info as parameters to the DITA build process which is then set into placeholder variables in the documentation.

Not all servers hosting CVS repositories support
HTTP:// type access; therefore, it would be helpful to
provide an option to bypass the numerous http://
attempts TortoiseCVS displays in the progress dialog. A
typical "Fetch list" operation yields well over 40
http:// attempts where each attempt stalls due to
timeouts resulting from the server not supporting
access via http. Even in cases...

Thank you for the good ideas! Another approach could
involve creating a temporary input ditamap file that bears
the desired file name prior to tasking the toolkit;
however, I was hoping to eliminate the need for such
pre/post DITA ops. I can certainly work with what's
currently available.

Using would require my tooling to know exactly what
the name and path of the generated output articat is;
however, I'm sure that can be determined in advanced for
most cases. Despite the work-around, I believe having the
option to specify the artifact's primary output name will
prove useful.

Is it possible to specify the artifact output name?
Using ant, I can specify the output directory but I
haven't come across documentation that indicates how
to specify the output filename (for PDF and CHM
artifacts for example.) If necessary, I could change
the name of the ditamap filename passed to the
toolkit; however, there are instances where a
parameter would be preferred. So...
