Changes:
Removed ubuntu loader so the disc loads really fast now. Fixed error where you couldn't exit out of the pba script without restarting. Hardware detection updated.
Notes:
Burn with -dao or you may receive Buffer I/O errors on load.
Burn example: wodim -dao ubu-pba-client_v1.7.iso

The new Optiplex GX 760 experiences timeouts when imaging. This may also
occur on new Dell Laptops. It seems to be related to HDD performance.
During the imaging process you may notice the client hang or pause until
a key is pressed. Noah Baldwin and I researched a work-around that will allow the imaging process to complete without incident.
Change the BIOS settings to:
SATA mode: ATA...

Now that I think about it you can just use the Live CD that I created earlier as a base. This will save all of the steps above, so you can just download:
http://www.blangblang.com/iso/ubu-pba-client_v1.5.iso
and use reconstructor with that to edit the environment. I have notes on the CD located at ~/About_This_PBA_Live_CD.txt
I used rc.local to start the pba.sh script.

High Level Steps to create an Ubuntu Based PBA Live CD
If you need more help please ask otherwise I'll assume you understand the concepts.
1. Download the latest copy of Ubuntu (8.10 released October 2008) build up a clean VM using this
a. Download reconstructor 2.8 (reconstructor_2.8_all.deb)
b. Install on your clean VM
c. Download Ubuntu-mini-remix-8.10.iso
2. Start Reconstructor on...

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply! Yes I'd be more than happy to share the process. I'm sure once I post up the process that we can make an even better client CD. There are a few specific steps... I'll reply back shortly.

IMO the PBA is nearly a perfect solution. Thanks to you I've been able to use this as an imaging solution for about two and a half years now. By my estimations, our help desk staff have imaged several hundred desktops across a variety of hardware using the PBA system. We've also got a small Dell sc series server loaded with debian and VMware Server in two different satellite offices with the PBA...

My first thought would be to try the localhost ip: 127.0.0.1
I didn't add a local alias in the hosts file so maybe that's the problem.
