  • STL Export Unhappy

    I'm getting reports that STL Export in 2.8ea will not export a cube that has been turned into a triangle mesh. Only just woke up myself, but thought I'd better get a report in. Will play with it tonight. Vik :v)

    It'll be great when you do. Ed and I were just saying last night that as long as the boolean stuff works, using the CSG and parametric stuff is a wonderful way to design bits & pieces for printing. Vik :v)

    Nothing to apologies for, mate. You guys are doing a wonderful job with AoI. I temporarily worked round it in this instance by converting the cylinders to mesh, simplifying the mesh and then doing the union on the two meshes. A fix would be good though as I bump into this problem in other scenarios. I tried to make the bug report as simple as possible for you; this is the simplest one I...

  • Boolean union tool fails on launchpad

    I've got two cylinders here. They're concentric but the ends are clear of one another to avoid CSG artifacts. I union them together - or try to because Tools/Boolean Modeling... fails to launch.     Yup, that works for a while. But once I try joining a hollow cylinder with the result, things start breaking again. So I just ignored them, made a plain (non-boolean) join of the mesh instead and threw it at Skeingforge as an STL to produce this gem: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1083 It's horribly non-manifold but at least I can print it out and get my spring crops planted!
