I should additionally point out that the value for transparency CANNOT BE SET in the session info window when the transparency checkbox in the session info window is unchecked, because the spin box for it is DISABLED. Thus it is impossible to set transparency explicitly to 0 at that point.
If this is intended behavior, it's not very intuitive.

Yes, that's probably why I went into the session info window, unchecked the "transparency" box, and hit "update".
However, this setting is not retained despite pushing the "update" button.

Expected behavior:
Typing or pasting text with non-ASCII characters should work.
Actual behavior:
Text doesn't get inserted at all when containing non-ASCII characters.
Attempt to reproduce 1:
* Open new terminal with Cmd+N
* type option+e (acute accent dead key)
* -> a little acute accent compose thingy appears
* type "e"
* the little acute accent disappears. no "é" was inserted.

Expected behavior:
Disabling transparency will disable transparency.
Actual behavior:
Disabling transparency only takes effect on the current terminal session.
Attempt to reproduce 1:
* Open new terminal w/ cmd+N
* Uncheck "Use transparency" in View menu
* First terminal is now opaque :)
* Open new terminal w/ cmd+N
* Second terminal is transparent :(
