This is totally different from video and voice, and is specific to the functionality found in the native client. I'm not going to squabble over the priority. I've attached screenshots of what I'm talking about, specifically.
Apparently, there is such a thing as MOC for Mac: http://www.google.com/search?q=office+communicator+for+mac ... but no one has chipped in yet, to say if that...

Hi ... I'm not the best person to be giving advice here, but did you try installing to a directory that didn't have parentheses in the path, just for troubleshooting purposes? Also, if you poke around the forums here, there was something I saw that said you might have to play around with your groups (I don't have that version of Windows, but I remember the word Public being used).

Trying to track down all the "still crashes for me too" comments I made ...
My issue was with config, as suggested. IP address changed, but had autodetect off.
Please see Bug:

Issue (per https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=7423925)
In uuid.c:get_mac_address_win (note that this code path is not taken on Linux, only Windows) if there are no network adapters that match the Pidgin "external IP", it falls through and returns a NULL MAC address. This gets passed back up a couple levels in the stack and ends up being given to sprintf as a format string, which...

You found the root cause and suggested a fix ... that's much better than what I did! Any chance of contributing the patch? I don't see it on the log: http://repo.or.cz/w/siplcs.git?a=shortlog;h=mob.

I fixed it! It was still crashing for me. I am using PidginPortable 2.5.5, because 2.5.6 hasn't come out yet, so it got me curious if that might've been the issue. I installed the native Pidgin 2.5.6, the 1.4.1 libsipe.dll, and set up all my login information. To my surprise, it logged in properly.
It occurred to me, one of the changes I had made to my original configuration (in my case...
