Can I add something to your "nice to have" list?
Allow Max_Full to be bigger?
At the moment the max is 8,
but I would like to keep monthly full backups.
To keep monthly full backups, one needs max_full = 12
but when max_full is set to anything greater than 8, it just keeps creting new backups
without deleting old ones, eg:

MAX_FULL=12
but it is ignored.

Are you sure you are in Text mode?
(click the "T" on the toolbar)
I can paste when in text mode, but cannot when I am not.
This works whether I am editing a pdf or a blank file.

1. I can confirm Denis' point that exporting to pdf means you can no longer edit your markups. Just tried it for the 1st time.
2. Can also confirm that when exporting you lose a bit of graphical quality.
Both are not issues for my particular needs: I only markup each pdf once and then keep it as a record. In this case having the final format as a single pdf is very convenient.

fwiw, at the end of every session, I export to pdf. I can then move the file around freely. I don't seem to lose anything by the export (though I might be wrong here) and can then open the new pdf later and continue annotating.
On thinking about it, what I might be losing is the ability to easily remove the annotations, though I have not tested this.

I run Xournal in Kubuntu 8.4 with no problems.
Based on KDE 3.5.10.

Couldn't find a donate button.
Use this program a lot so wanted to contribute something.
How to donate?
One of the major issues in moving from Wz to Linux for me was being able to markup .pdfs - do it almost every day.
No Acrobat for Lx, and dislike it anyway,
so Xournal was a big help in my moving from Wz toLx.
(Use mostly export rather than save as)

Thanks - Using Postscript Type1 fonts instead of TrueType fonts works fine.
There are plenty of Postscript Type1 fonts on the system.
(On ubuntu, they can be most easily seen in System Administration/Font installer
and are in /usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts)
Consider this solved.
